I was honored to make use of my design skills for my cousin, Esther. The only requirements she had was for a handmade feel, use of the color blue, and to have her favorite flowers (hydrangeas) included in the design. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of visualizing the handmade aesthetic and making into a tangible art piece: from sketching hand drawn styles with pen on tracing paper, scanning the sketches in, and editing them for the final product. While searching for fonts, I fell in love with the romantic serif style of the Fell Types by Igino Marini (It is one of my favorite fonts, and I use it for my personal branding because it has beautiful type anatomy). For an elegant touch, each page has a semi thick white border framing a background image of watercolor paper texture. I left some white spaces when coloring the hydrangeas to add to the watercolor style.
